The torque wrench is a precision instrument for measuring torque. It is used to twist the threaded fasteners so that the connection torque is known and suitable for the type of material and the strength of the bolt and nut.
The key consists of a head with a square stem and a force transmission arm. The head is used to fix the hex head.
Comparison of moments in different units of length and strength:
1 kG * cm = 13,887 OZ * IN (ounce x inch)
1 kG * cm = 0.867 LB * IN (lb. in)
1 kG * m = 9,80665 N * m (Newton x meter)
1 kG * m = 7,233 LB * FT (lb.ft)
1 FT * LB = 12 LB * IN (lb. in.)
1dm * N = 14.16 OZ * IN (ounce x inch)
Application / Application
It is used mainly in automotive technology for precise fixing and where the manufacturer has specified the required tightening torque of the joint.
How to use
– Select the appropriate scale Nm or in-lbs. Loosen the locking screw at the end of the micrometer dial.
– Set the micrometer dial so that “0” on the scale of the knob is aligned with the vertical line on the key arm.
– Turn the micrometer dial clockwise until the desired torque is set. The desired torque is set when the pitch on the micrometer dial will overlap with the vertical line on the key arm.
– Then tighten the locking screw as far as it will go and set the right direction of rotation of the ratchet, after which the key is ready for use.
– Insert the appropriate cap onto the key spigot. During tightening, the set torque is indicated by a click of a key. If you hear or feel clicks, you should stop tightening.
